"We Never Called it BBOYING!

It was called BREAKING, GOING OFF, BOI-YOING!

"BBOYING is a NEW SCHOOL TERM!" (Started in the 90's)

We Never said that back in the days.

And Many Bronx Originals say it sounds MAD CORNY!

I have to Admit, I Personally Like the term BBOYING Myself.

But I am very Careful when I Educate about the dance I have been doing in the Bronx Since Childhood in the 70's...

Many of Today's Pioneers started Breaking, when I quit Breakin in late 1978!!! lol....

So When i Teach, i use Original Terms... To keep it OFFICIAL.

In Truth, BREAKING STARTED ON TOP!

IN THE EARLY 70'S. There were NO AIR MOVES, or COMPLEX GROUND MOVES you see today. According to many 1st G's there were not even HEAD SPINS...

BREAKING STARTED ON TOP! FRESSTYLE! A Dance... With many Steps on TOP..... And also Freezes on TOP!

Simple Character moves like THE GROUCH-O, DRACULA, THE SLING SHOT, DROPS, GO DOWNS, SPIN DOWNS, QUICK FREEZE ON THE FLOORS, SPIN BACK UP, AND BACK TO BREAKIN ON TOP.

The dance Changed when more Groundwork, Ground Spins, Footwork, Shuffles, Ground Freezes, and Harder Moves were added.

Younger generation Bronx Boys were more infatuated by the Fast Footwork, and Harder moves on the floor.

But as the N. TWINS (1st generation BBoys) once told us on panel. "We didn't do all the moves on the floor"

They mostly Broke on TOP.
